In accordance with recommendations from the Governor's Office and our county health agency partners, all in-person (in building) instruction in St. Vrain, will be canceled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. The district will continue to implement its online learning in accordance with the district calendar.

GT Building Representative

At Mountain View Elementary, our gifted and talented students thrive.Our program offers opportunities for differentiated instruction that fosters critical thinking skills. Mountain View teachers utilize a STEM focus where students learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through interdisciplinary units of study. Classroom teachers, instructional paraprofessionals, and the GT coordinator work together to meet the needs of GT students through differentiation in the regular classroom,and enrichment opportunities.
Overview of Gifted Programming Options
STEM: Students learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through interdisciplinary units of study.
Differentiated Instruction: Support for gifted students occurs every day in the regular classroom.
Literacy: Differentiation occurs within Intervention and Enrichment groups and homeroom classrooms.
Mathematics: Differentiation occurs within Intervention and Enrichment groups and homeroom classrooms.
There are many before and after school programs available for our students including:
Robotics, Writing Club, Student Council, Technology Club, 100 Mile Running Club, and several community school offerings as well. .
GT coordinator and staff counselor partner for GT grade level student advocacy discussions. We also use the InFocus social and emotional program school wide. We strive to develop a foundation of the concepts of talent, creativity, and the development of potential.
Differentiation in the classroom includes, but is not limited to: tiered lessons, curriculum compacting, challenge, depth complexity, and student choice opportunities.
Our Media Hub offers enrichment for all students. Intervention classes are offered in math or reading on a daily basis.

Grade-level and specific content acceleration is determined on an individual student basis.
